Corporate Folk Kit
Each year, with the beginning of winter holidays, Folk has a tradition of creating conceptual & creative corporate gifts for current and future clients, partners, and friends. All of them have one thing in common – inspired by the agency’s name and philosophy, each year they make it about folklore, interpret it, look around for its modern expressions in peoples’ surroundings. In this particular case, the team dig into the corporate folklore & created the Corporate Folk Kit – which is a set of corporate often-overused cliche phrases turned into objects. The kit includes a beer titled Hold My Beer, a stress ball by the name of Ball Is In Your Court, a pack of In a Nutshell nut, a Stay Sharp pen, and On The Same Page notebook.
When designing the objects, they wanted to keep it simple, yet insightful. For example, before making the beer label, team members turned into actors and tried to portray the ‘holding my beer’ situation as it would unfold in real life. The beer label then became an extension of its holder – it marks a place where someone would put their fingers while holding someone’s beer. Also, the “the ball is in your court” ball – being very limited by printable space designers gathered to have a tiny court on the ball itself, where the dot of i is actually in your court. Or The “On the same page” pages – every single page is on the same page. Tiny details matter.
Corporate Folk Kit became an instant success – some partners of the agency after receiving the gift package started contributing new ideas for the next year. They flooded FOLK with new phrases that can be made into objects next year. ‘Hold your horses,’ ‘Career ladder,’ ‘Seeing the Bigger Picture’ and ‘Word of Mouth’ are the early candidates to turn into kit’s extensions.
